Therapy Horses2017-01-30T17:30:17+00:00

At Horseplay Therapy Center, therapy horses are carefully chosen for their temperament and the type of movement they produce.  All are specially trained in how to perform during a therapy session and are handled by experienced horse handlers.

Who Benefits?

At Horseplay Therapy Center, our licensed therapists treat a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delays, genetic disorders, attention deficit disorder, and more.  Hippotherapy is incorporated into the treatment plan to help children achieve the highest outcomes.

20 year old Quarter Horse

Rebel is a 20 year old quarter horse who spent most of his life as a barrel racer. He now enjoys life as a therapy horse and is always ready for hugs and attention. He is as sweet as they come, and a therapy favorite.

11 year old Tennessee Walker

Captain is our very handsome Tennessee Walker who loves to be large and in charge. He loves posing for pictures and being the center of attention! You can find Captain wherever the kids are…unless you find him in the pond. No kids in the pond, but Captain has been known to sneek off for a quick dip!

10 year old Palomino Quarter Horse

Brave is a special guy with a special story. You may notice his droopy lip and floppy left ear. He suffered a severe facial injury that damaged some nerves, causing the facial abnormalities. Our kids love that he is a little different from the rest. He recovered from his injury and through it all he stayed strong. He is a great therapy horse who is eager to please and has definitely lived up to his name. We love our Brave!
